Hi,
New to this forum so apologies if the question or a similar one has been asked previously.
We have set up a drainage arrangement for a project we are currently working on. Our current model has an architectural model linked in and our own structural model linked in.
We have been asked to plot on the drainage plan a line that will represent an existing run. We have been given a number of coordinates for the drainage run.
My question is this : is it possible to plot a detail line in a plan view using coordinates? It doesn't neccesarily need to be a drainage arrangement - this could be applicable for any number of instances.
Any help would be grately recieved.
Many thanks,
The Eagle

You should probably route the drainage runs using 'model' lines (3D / global), not detail lines which are 2d and view specific.
Or you could use 'pipes' or 'pipe placer holders' which are 3D / global.

thanks for the reply....using the model line facility is what I will do....what I need to know is how do you plot a model line if you have say 5 specific coordinates......i can't seem to find the command that will allow you to do this.
Cheers

I think you mean 5 points, each with 3 coordinates? ??? x,y & z
We don't know how you have coordinates ... what is the base line? If it is survey points, then that might be easier to do in your site CAD DWG if you have one. You can also just measure off a known point for x/y. Draw a model line then change the elevation of the ends of the line. If the coordinates are bearing and distance, you could use a property line to get a plan view location, draw the model line with different z numbers.
