So I for the life of me cannot figure out why this family doesnt work the minute it crosses another foundation of some sort. You will see it is a piling cap family that has 5 different pile caps within it. Size of the cap, location of the cap, depth of the pilings and also number of pilings. It works great: p1 is a 6 pile cap, pile p3 is a 5 Pile cap. But when the cap touches another cap or foundation in the family it forgets all its visibility parameters within the family. Can anyone take a look and see if they can figure it out? Its blowing my mind for some reason. Thanks.

No time to investigate this family but if the element is 'joined' it will enherit the visibility properties of the host element. Bottom line, you cannot have seperate visibility settings for 'joined' elements.
