Hi there,

I am trying wanting to create a tag so that i can quickly tag the volume and weight of indivual precast panels on my drawings. I started by opening a wall tag family and adding a label for my volume. I need to add a volume parameter to this label, this is where i run into my problem. I cant find a volume parameter anywhere i look. I have searched through all the shared parameter files.

In the project file with my panels they each have a volume parameter on them displaying the volume of the panel so i must be able to link it to my tag family somehow. Has anyone run into this problem? i have attached a couple of snips of what i am trying to do.

Any help would be great!

I don't think Revit allows you to tag wall volumes by default, though I'd be interested if anyone else knows how to do it without using a third party link or losing the instant 'live' data tag updates that Revit is know for.

There are third party add-ins out there that would do the job. Check the below out:

Why a tag .... just schedule the walls.  Volume is available there.

Yea thats the conclusion i came to, seems like something that you should be able to do as we can tag almost everything else? The reason i wanted to create a tag is so when we have buildings with 100, 200+ precast panels it would become a lot faster to be able to tag the panels so the required information comes up instantly on the sheet. Creating individual schedules and dragging them into place on the sheet is time consuming.
