When I place a concrete slab over exterior bearing walls below the walls dissappear completely. Why aren't the walls showing up as hidden lines? My view range is set correctly. Only when I give the floor a 100% transparency does the walls and columns below the slab appear. Problem is they're appearing as solid lines because I made the slab transparent. I need these elements to appear as hidden lines. I could change these elements to hidden in visibility graphics, but I have other columns and walls on the plan that shouldn't be shown as hidden. I updated my graphics card and updated revit with the latest update and it still won't work. I never had this problem before.

Another issue I'm having is I need to turn off the linked architectural model in my structural model before I can annotate any beams with their sizes. When I turn the architectural model back on the beam sizes remain. I'm confused. Are these issues relared?

You need to learn more about how Revit works.  Read this in your HELP.

I've also found that turning my structural consultants floor to 100% transparent is effectively the same as shutting it off, except that I can measure to it!

Double check course, medium, fine levels of detail.  Sometimes beams/columns are quirky in that sense.

Also, adjusting the view range (at least temporarily) may help alleviate some issues.
