How do you convert a surface to a joined solid geometry? I know you can't cut into a surface and it must be converted into a soilid. I did that somehow and created a void in it but I have no idea how I did that.

 

Please use lament terms because this is my first time playing with conceputal masses haha

 

I am using Revit 2013
