Now they want a corinthian column. Can anyone tell me where to find a tutorial on creating 3d mesh in autocad? Or any other way to build this one?

Found some good stuff there, but can't figure out how to get max models into revit. Is this where rpc comes in?

You'll need to convert the Max model to dwg first.

My ignorance is showing through. The model is .3ds 3D studio guessing that is different from 3d max but either way I have no hint how to make it a .dwg. Any hints? Post edited on 2006-02-14 12:18:08

You can convert a 3ds file to a dwg using programs such as viz, max, rhino, hexagon (has a free trial) and i'm pretty sure there is a free 3D package available that has this ability... Will need to check up on the name.

just open your 3ds file (which is a max file) and save as or export to dwg.

Autocad will import your .3ds file, you can then save it as a dwg. (might be an idea to do some cleaning up, moving things to 0,0, all to layer 0 etc)
