Hi,

I've been creating a 'splashscreen' element to our template file, this forms the screen that will be seen first when opening each file and contains some general information about the file. I want to add a 'Notes' element to it so that the users can write down certain things which will act as reminders or guides for the next time the file is opened.

What would be the best way of doing this would you say?

Thanks

Simon

Use a Drafting View.

THe Spashscreen is a seperate family loaded into the template. Am I able to do that within a family? I can't work out where from.

Maybe I'm not understanding. if it's a family, you load it like any other family.

Sorry don't knwo what happened above. Also sorry if I'm not being clear.

My 'Splash Screen' is a seperate family which I have loaded into my template file and acts as the first screen you seen when opening the file each time. I want to set the template up with a General Notes box on this spash screen for users to type small amounts of text to remind themselves of things to do ie. 'Finish changing windows to 900mm cills' etc.

Why a family?

We use a simple legend.

We are fairly new to it all and we were suggested using elements from the AEC standard template. So we have basically taken this template file and tweaked it to our needs. So we are using a tweaked version of the spashscreen in this which is a family. Forgive me, I don't really know at this stage what the alternatives are to this.

How would I go about doing this as a legend?

Thanks

Simon

In your template, simply under view - select legend - name it and add whatever you want.

Save the file with this view picked as thumbnail preview under the save options.

OK, I got it! We had the spashscreen working fine, just meant how did you intend to use the legend on it, but I understand now and so have imported that legend onto the spashscreen view so notes can be added.

Great, many thanks both!
