I am working on a spherical pavillion project that the interior and external form has been made from a single revovle. the design involved the exterior having a pattern diamond pattern that adapted to the buildings form. the problem i had is that i am not able to create a a solid revolve form and then divided the surface to apply the diamond adaptive family i have made.

currently the form has been made as a casework component revolve

and the exterior shell with has been made as a generic adpative family. the main problem is a cant divide the surface of a revolve in the component. and within the family it will not allow me to make the full revolve form of the interior. This design is going to be built by creating a mould to cast the design in concrete which means the company require a single element for there CNC MAchines to work from not a model made from two elements on top of each other  has anyone got an idea how i can create this form as a single element?

Thanks!

Create the revolve in "Conceptual mass" environment then you can divide. Zach Kron blog is very, very good....
