I have a floor plate that produces strange lines when I "print to pdf". It only happens when I use the ellipse tool in sketch mode. The floor is completely flat. I've also tried turning off all Any ideas on why this happens? I'm using Revit ARch 2012.

thanks in advance!

I believe that is a material problem.  Change it to one without a pattern and see what happens.

thank you for the tip. I did try selecting the floor and changing the floor type to a generic with no pattern. It still shows the lines. I believe it has to do with the ellipse or the program/software translation of Bluebeam or Adobe PDF when I print. I had to re-draw the eliipse as a series of lines.

I don't ever use true ellipses, they are too hard to define and not necessary.  Before CAD and drafting templates, we always constructed ellipses using just 2 arc radii, 4 arcs total.  Those you can define so that the contractor can build them.

This link shows how close an appromation is to a real ellipse - note that very long, thin ellipses do not work as well.
