I have a roof section that includes a ceiling as part of the roof construction. (I know there are a lot of opinions about the whether or not you should do this, but this is really the only way I could get the model to work out.) My question is, how to I make the "air" layer transparent so that I can see the wide flange structural members supporting the steel deck. If you look at attached drawing 1, the steel beams should be shown in the yellow highlighted area. However, I can't get the air layer to not be opaque. Even if I change the material to 100% transparent, nothing changes. I've attached the roof construction box as well as the material editor. I'm not sure what I'm missing.

Did you try join?  You would have to do each element if this does work.

I don't understand why you included the ceiling.

No, I haven't tried join. I'm not sure what you mean by this.

The ceiling is part of the roof becasue the roof has lots of irregular slopes. The section I posted is through one of the simple areas so that I could illustratte the problem. I need a ceiling that follows these slopes and is always parallel to the roof deck. This got very tedious when the roof and ceiling were seperate. Does this make sense?
