Hello, I'm trying to create a wall hosted lighting fixture but I'm having issues with the light source direction. I'm trying to set the light to come from the wall (left/right direction), but it's by default paralel to the reference level; as seen on images 1 and 2. Now, if I rotate the light source to fit my needs it won't appear in renderings. I'm wondering if there's any way I can do this. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or maybe trying to achieve something that's just not possible.

Thank you.

Your light source is a line.  That line must be in front of the wall - not in it!  Move it out to where your light bulb would be.

It's actually a rectangle. I've tried creating an unhosted lighting fixture family and rener it, it renders correctly, the moment I try to rotate it it stop appearing in the renderings. I don't know if I'm soing something really wrong or just rationalizing it the wrong way.

I have never used that light source.  When did they add that?

I checked it out and that family seems to have a bug.  Report it to AutoDESK.

I suggest you use a face based template.
