Im so hoping someone may be able to help.

Ive been given the task at a company im currently working at to create 'Room Data Sheets'.

This is all well and good but what they want to do is to be able to cross check the room data sheets with the revit model automatically.

So for example the room data sheet has been defined that a certain room eg. bedroom requires 1 - grille, 2 - lights , 3 -double sockets, etc .......

Groups have been created holding these families in and placed in the room. The group has then been un-grouped. A schedule was created for grilles, lights etc....

This was then exported (using BIMlink) to excel, the schedule was then crossed checked against the room data sheet and a 3rd excel tab shows whether the 2 schedules match.

This I think is a long winded way of doing it and could be improved on in some way - Any ideas?

The other problem is then to get the data back into Revit and represented in the space as either a colour or text what the problems are.

Can this be done, If so how?

Sorry if the explanation is a bit long winded and confusing if you need help in understanding what i'm actually trying to work out please let me know

Thanks so much in advance

Mark

You got these items to associate with the room?  I have only found that items entirely within the room limits and the door would schedule with the room.

I think associate maybe the wrong word.

Within the schedule within revit it shows the room and flat these parts are in.

See jpg attached. The physical family doesnt actually know its in that room or should be in that room.

So supply registers do show their rooms.  I know that Mechanical louvers will not because they are really not in the room - just through the wall.
