My revit on a 4 mo old workstation.  It experiences constant and seemingly random 30 second long hold ups / regens.  The hold-ups are approxiately 30 seconds in length and happen once per 5 min.

System:  32g ram, 4core i7 proceessor, 256 ssd disk drive +   1gb nVidia quadro2000 with latest drivers installed recently http://screencast.com/t/hohY6lQ5Gww  http://screencast.com/t/ZFdAcoN8    Dual monitors.

I  have deleted all the .dwgs from the revit file.  I have audited the file, tried purging all unused from a copy of the file.  Still eperiences the hold-ups.  Files size is small +/- 15megs.

Any ideas why?

Try creating a new project and see if the problem still persists.  Have you downloaded all of the service paks for 2013?  You need to do this otherwise you will experience problems with 2014 as well.

It is/was up to date with current service packs (v2013)

I am going to try a new project, starting tomorrow.

I started a project from scratch, no imports, no families transferred in.  I’ve taken everything off the startup I could think of.  Still getting delays.  So I did the following:

·        Latest video card driver installed.

·        Sonicwall network connection program for FTP connection to joint venture partner firm.

·        Gotomeeting program deleted

·        Dropbox program deleted

·        Bluebeam (pdf program)  program deleted

·        Restarted after each.

·        In one batch, I did the following:

o   McAfee security scan plus (un-used, it came with the computer.  I use “eSet” as antivirus) program deleted

o   Qlockwork (time tracker program:  it was installed AFTER the delays started occurring) program deleted

·        Seemed to have no positive effect

·        Then I deleted Revit Add-ins (all came thru the Revit Exchange apps).  ONE OF THESE SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN THE PROBLEM:

o   Room Renumber

o   RTV Xporter

o   Palladio XBIM Windows layout

o   ArchVision dashboard

o   ARCxL Details and planroom

o   Ever heard of any of these being a problem ?
