Hi,

have a query,

want to do a radial array of connection points up a curved column, similar to Jean-Marie Cultural centre.

The radial dimension of the column changes as it grows in height, therfore I need the array radial dimension to change with it to keep it parametric. Using a reporting parameter won't work and I cannot do a formula, which i have one, to calculate the radial dimension based on the height and width of the column as it needs to use the reporting parameter and wont let me.

Any help will be appreciated.

I am using Revit 2013.

I can put up the file if anyone wants to have a look at it but am not at my computer right now, so let me know if it will help.

Chris

in that case,i think reporting parameters won't be nessesary.

reporting parameter is for the case when parameter would be get automatically, like pattern panels.. or adpative families..

i can review your file if you upload it.

Hi sorry for the late reply,

I've attached the file, the view that works best is the left elevation.

I also made a quick extrusion to try and array,

Good Luck!

Thanks heaps.

Here is the file again, I purged it to make it a little smaller.

i got the file but can't understand what's the goal u want.

can you explain what you want to make parametric or show me any refernce images?

it seems like Jean-Marie Cultural centre column but a little different. ones at Jean-Marie Cultural centre has all same radius just defferent length(height), but yours changes radius depend on changing heights.

and if you want to use it for column, it's better to placed at the center of left&right ref. plan.

I want the number of connections  to change as the number of levels change, the fact that the radial dimension changes when the height changes is the problem im having as I want the array radial dimension to change.

Make sense? I know its confusing.

It's really confusing...if i had to make curved and arraied and parametric column, i'd rather use mass and pattern..

I'm sure i can make your goal if i understand clearly..but i think i don't yet..

Can you show me any hand drawings or somwthing?
