2014 having trouble docking the properties / project browser to the side, it wants to dock on the top of the drawing window but not the side???

why??

it depends on where the mouse cusor release on the screen.

In your image they do not looked docked. That's a new feature for 2014. They stack on top of each other and you use the tabs at the bottom to switch between them. You can still get them side by side but it will take practice. I'm sure there's some option but I haven't looked at it yet.

Yes, it does depend on the location of the mouse cursor (how dopey is that?!)

the solution is to grab the top left corner and position it. It will cooperate.
