Hi...

I have created a standard partition wall, however i want add a abumtment channel to it..in which my glass wall will inset.  I would like to know what is the best way to create the chanel (using which family) and how best to inset/recess it within the partition wall.   The glass wall will be a a curtain wall..

Can this abutment detail be added to the partition wall, so everytime i draw this wall...it has the abutment on the end.

Please help.

Why model something that is hidden? 

You could model it with the correct edge mullion. This would give you a vertical line in elevations which you would have to hide but you would have render problems.

You could model it without an edge 3D mullion but a detail component.  << I really don't like this in plan views.  This metod will render and elevate correctly.

I would model the CW with an edge mullion that is just the flat thin edge (no returns).  Then I would use detail components in detail.
