Hello,
I have an existing building modeled with an existing floor slab that has existing openings shown. I used the Vertical opening tool to put those in. However, now I need to cut a new hole for an escalator. I set up my phases of Existing, Demo and New Construction. Now, I need to cut a new hole, so where do I do this? On the demo plan or new construction plan? Any plan I seem to cut it on, either demo or new, the properties shows it as existing. Help?

I typically don't use shafts. In existing phase, I would add a sketch of the holw in the floor slab. Then I would add a floor slab that fits the hole & join the two. Now in new phase, demo the hole.

Thanks for responding. I followed your instructions, and it worked, however it did not show the "new" hole as new construction.. the properties were still existing.
So, I have decided to just add the holes and then go over with the linework tool to make them display like I want them to.
Thanks
