Would anyone be able to explain how to create a custom light fixture that is hosted to a linked architectural model. I created a custom light family and tried the "cut with voids tool". It doesent seem to be cutting through the cieling it is hosted too. If you need more information, please let me know. I will respond immediately. Thanks

No family can cut a linked model.  Both host and family has to be in the same model.

Darn, so how would I go about keeping a light fixture in the MEP model and being able to show up correctly in the Arch model with cutting a wall or ceiling.

Not pretty

You need to re-model the walls (copy monitor perhaps) and the ceiling (copy and paste) into your model.

One way or the other you can't cut a whole in a linked model.
