Liking REVIT 2014 - But still no 'Metal Deck' in Roofs as a Layer Function. Why is that ?? Only Floors. Another year of using floors to model all of our flat roofs I guess.

There must be some big deal as to why they don't add it into the roofs otherwise why wouldn't they?  I mean it seams like it should be a no brainer that it gets added.

Yeah I kinda wish we had this too.  Shouldnt be that hard to make since structural floors do it.

Maybe there should be no way to make a flat roof with the Roof tool, if its flat and we can walk on it,

we make it a Floor Roof and use Floor tool.

I think the issue stems from the fact that roofs can have sloped edges with ridges and valleys. They should probably have a seperate 'Flat Roof' tool. Our structural people just keep drawing flat roofs as floors BUT then the categary is 'Floor' which causes visibility issues within REVIT but also when we bring it into Navisworks and try to run clash detections etc.

There's always a little work around (element, name, contains 'floor') but causes a pain none the less. Especially if you haven't been briefed of the know problem.
