Hi there, I am using revit 2013. I am trying to create a triangular shade sail with relatively accurate slump and tension. I can do it with a square sail using adaptive components, but cannot seem to modify it to do the same. everytime I create it, it is stiff like a board. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. thanks for your time

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but I would model this in-place with a swept blend.  The path an arc, the first profile an arc, and the second profile very small, like a point.  This will generate a triangle with a slight bow to it.

like this.

You can also use a spline as a path to give it an asymetric bow.

Hi there quinn, I liked your model. It was almost what I was after, and I think with a bit of tweaking it may work. Thank you for that.

Itsmyalterego, I liked your idea, but it didnt seem to be quite flexible enough for my needs, but i think I can use it elsewhere to do something easier. thank you.

Do you think I can also get idea from different source from doing my customize sun sail? For example here http://coastwideshadesails.com.au/ they have several format and designs for shade sail, which I wanted to get pattern of. If I wil use revit 2013, is there possibility that I will most likely have the desired result? Just thinking of what dasher77 said, he wasn't able to get the right size he did.

I've created something very simillar to quinns family, but like his, mine also can't make a roof from face when loaded in project.

Revit divides curved sail triangle into 3 small curved triangles and a flat one. My mass can create roof from 2 curved and a flat one, for the last one it gives an error.

And the question is: WHYYYYYYYYYY??

It can easily create wall but impossible to create a roof. There are restrictions when making a roof and I'd like to know them
