This site is useless for electrical engineers. Its needs MEP host based families, not ceiling based.

There is no such thing as MEP hosted so I'm not sure of what you are complaining about.

This site works by contributions from the members of the site.  So contribute by adding appropriate families that you create.

I do not have the skills yet to make the families I need sometimes. I check here to see if someone does, but there is not much face-based families to choose from especially for electrical. MEP is a faced based program when you use a linked file from an architect. I host my families to the Arch.'s model. I try to use this site to help me when I can't help myself. I cant use this site unless I contribute?

I understand your frustration, this is something I struggled with for a long time.

1. If you find a family on here that you would like to use, download and copy useable information into a new face based family.

2. AU Seek (I am not sure if I am allowed to say another website or not, sorry if I am not) is a great resourse for manufacturer products, some good and some bad. You really have to take time and build a library

Hope this helps

nhammett,

I see that you have been a member since 2010 yet you have not added anything to the site.  The members and operators of the site do so on a volunteer basis.  This site would be nothing if everyone only took and never contributed.  Every family, good post, tip and post answer is a worthwhile contribution - no matter what the user's skill level.

You might also try the AUGI site for more MEP info.
