Guys,

I work with a manufacturer of standing seam roofing and wall panel products. Our company is looking into providing our standard details in a Revit format. Is this something that is in demand in the architectural Revit community?

Forgive me, but I am not knowledgeable about Revit. I've been an AutoCAD guy for 25 years. I also have a little experience with Autodesk Inventor. Does Revit get into detail. In other words, if I want to show how an eave detail of a standing seam panel should be, can that be done in Revit? I have seen demonstrations of Revit in the past, and it didn't seem to be at that level yet.

Just looking for feedback from Revit users to see if these details are beneficial to you.

Thanks to anyone that would like to provide their expertise.

Anything you did in CAD, Revit does it better.  If you just want details... drafted - then do it as Revit drafted details.  Those can be directly imported into a project.   If you want to do detail components that the user can place in his details (BETER) then do those using the proper family template.

The more Revit content the better.
