Dear Sir and Madam,I am a new guy for Revit. I have been struggling to understand what is Revit. To compare with ArchiCAD, in my point of view, I will get more information from IFC file (with archiCAD).Please have a look my Model.I design this model using archicad 16. Later my team asked me to use Revit software. I have no idea why they need revit. To create curtain wall, the easiest way is using archicad (please correct me if im wrong).therefore, when I import IFC of my model from ArchiCAD, Revit 80% cannot define my object (wall, roof, slab, etc). However, It recognize my DOOR even only with less information. I added lot of information to my IfcDoor with archicad. Now its gone!My question is,

1. How can I make IfcDoors parameters?? and

2. What are the most important parameters or lists for IfcDoor as Basic Handover to facility Management??

3. Why revit can recognize only some of my curtainwall? the rest just as Undefiend object??I am sorry for the novel. I have been googling every where. here is my only hope. Thank you very much in advance.BR.

My best advice is that if you need a Revit curtain wall, then create it in Revit.

Thanks for replying so quick. Are you saying there is no possibility to fix this issue? I tried to create the model using Revit but i found it was really tough to design shell and curtain wall.I picked archicad and its Shell tools option as my application.

Sorry but you will find that most of us here just use Revit.  And what's more - I personally find it very easy to use.

We know that IFC does not work in all instances - this is a problem with both programs.  They really don't want to work together.  If you knew this needed to be in Revit, then you made a poor choice choosing archiCAD.

If you have Revit question about curtain walls, there are many here that can help you but not too many can help with IFC translation problems..... As you have found out elsewhere.  Ask this question on the archiCAD site.   Sounds like the IFC export does not meet Revit's needs.

Cheers!B.R
