Using Revit Architecture 2012

Trying to split my main toposurface into smaller areas as I am creating paths that are built in a later phase setting.  When I finish the splitting the new area I've created just disappears - a white hole in my green grass, not the tarmac I asked for.  However the new surface does exist in other views.

This does not appear to be a phase issue as I've tried viewing my plan in all phases and it's still a hole.  And the new toposurface is not just hidden in the plan view.  Nor do I seem to be able to alter anything in the visibility / graphics override box that makes the path appear.

I tried copying my toposurface into a new model and it all worked fine.  when i copied this back into my original model the problems recurred.

Thanks for any help

Lizzy

As you have already found out, it is not a Revit issue.  It could be a file issue but more than likely it is a user issue.   User error is the hardest to solve because of the variables.

Create a new view (not a copy - new from the view tab) and see what happens?

Audit your file....
