Hi,

Does anyone know if there is a way to create model in place components and copy them around a model then change one and have them all update? Is the only way to do this creating a family? I just find it so much easier to model in place than in a family template then importing the family into the project.

Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

You have the "Repeat" tool in Conceptual Mass but not in "In-place", also, use a family template to create that family (like you said you have SEVERAl models (fam.) in your project).

Each in-place model is unique.  If you copy one around you will find them in your browser with the original name then an added copy number: mode1, model2, model3 etc.  Since they are each unique, each copy adds file size.

Learn to create regular families.

I know how to create familes but i find the lack of background elements make it harder to do so. was just wondering if there was a way to use in place models to achieve the same thing
