Hi guys,

I'm trying to create a roof framing schedule like the one attached but I'm still quite new to revit so I haven't been able to figure out how.

I'm using Revit 2013 and the drawing below is in lines (not 3d elements). I want to scheule the R1 text and for it to have parameters that show up in the schedule.

Is it possible to do this in a label within a symbol that I can just drop onto the plan?

P.S I tried keynote and that only seems to work on 3d elements.

STOP PRESS!!

I think I figured it out. Can I do what I want using Note Blocks?

I would use an IDF (invisible detail family).  That can be a model element with types keyed to different keynotes and it can also have shared parameters so that it can be tagged.  Our IDF has an invisible circle then an added symbollic line +  (new detail sub-category).  That line category (color red) is set to be off by default but you turn it on to easily find the family to tag it.

Keynotes work on detail components, they do not have to be 3d.

thanks WWHub and Coreed for getting back to me. I'll look into this IDF thing more deeply and hopefully i'll come out of it with a good result.
