Hey guys, I have a SketchUp Wall. I want to pull the custom SketchUp wall into Revit as a wall using the Model > Create and Wall tool. This way my wall I made in SketchUp can have doors and windows put in. But for some reason when ever I try to export to DWG and pull that mass into Revit, it doesn’t let me. any ideas? Thanks Scott

From E. Phillip Read – Solutions Architect Autodesk "Integrating Sketchup and Autodesk Revit" guide In order for Revit to understand the exported geometry as a Mas object, link the file into a Mass Family component. By doing this, Revit treats the geometry as a Mass, alowing the faces of the mass component to be selected and asociated to Revit host elements. Furthermore, the relationship betwen imported mas geometry is maintained if the SketchUp file is modified, exported and reloaded in the Revit project. Here’s the critical path from SketchUp to Revit: 1. Create the massing study in SketchUp. Export to DWG. 2 From Revit, select File>New>Family>Mas.rft. 3 Link the exported DWG file into the family. 4 Save family. 5 Load the Mas Family into the Revit project and place the component. 6.Use Wal/Roof/Curtain System by face command to select the faces of the Mas component.

You know what stinks about that? :-( When I place the building as a wall, the windows and doors want to center themselves in he middle of the building. unfortunatally the whole building gets counted as a wall and not just the 3D geometry that makes up the SketchUp walls. Anyone know a solution to this?
