My lables of dish washers and ovens from the 1st level show up in my second level.  How do I turn if off only on the second level?

Are these labels part of the family or are you talking about when you tag them in the project they are showing up on different levels?

These appliances are in the Revit Library folders.  They were not created by me.

Thats not what I asked.  I asked if the labels you are seeing on multiple floors are part of the family or if you are tagging the family in the project.  What appliances are you using, attach the family if you can.

Yes.  It is part of the family.  Like I said, this is a family that was created by Revit.  They are appliances like domestic refridgerators, Washer and dryers, Dish Washer, oven.  When I insert the family it allows me to also type in a lable.

How did you make your second level?  In your view range is your cut plane association you Second Floor?

This is not uncommon and is part of several speciality equipment families that come with revit like the dishwasher, stove, washer, dryer and fridge. We've all seen it.

It may be a factor of the view range and cut plane in the view that you do NOT want to see it. The easiest way to instantly solve the problem is to select the text and then Hide Element in View.

I think the way to instantly fix the problem is to edit the family and remove that symbol.  I have never found this process to work well.  Adding annotations after placement brings far less grief.

And hiding in multiple views is not instant either :->Winking

Nested annotations were a good thought that just doesn't work ....yet.....

I don't like nested details either....

Thank you for all the responses.  I'll just have to get rid of the lable on these appliances.  However the real problem are the elevation symbols showing on all floors.  Perhaps the problem was that it was created by me by modifying an existing exterior elevation symbol.  I though Revit had a separate interior elevation symbol that was way too busy in plan views...but I cant seem to find it anymore.  Did they get rid of it?

Whoa .... what are you doing?

Symbols (except embedded) only show up in the view they are placed in.

Something else going on here .... You don't seem to have normal views.

I just opened a totallly new project file to try to use those elevation symbols.  I notice that the problem still exists on this virgin file.  I cant believe other people have not notice these elevation symbols showing up on all levels.

I think we are having a terminology problem.  Elevation symbol is a spot elevation.  I now think you mean an elevation callout symbol - interior or exterior, is that correct?  If the elevation is interior and is only one floor high, it will not show.  If it does show on an upper level then you have cut that level with the view.  Adjust the crop region of the elevation view.
