Hi,

Does anyone know how the beam system tags work? My problem lies with the beam systems and how they dont place beams at the edge of the system boundary. Im aware that I can stretch the boundary beyond the extent of where I need the beams to a achieve an edge beam but this is time consuming, fiddly and sometimes doesnt achieve the goal.

As a compromise Im happy if there isnt a beam at the edge of the boundary as long as the system tag clearly identifies the boundary of the system. This is where my problem lies. The out of the box tag picks up on the beams at each end of the nominated spacing within the system and not of the boundary of the system.

I was thinking of introducing an offset parameter in the tag family but I dont know enough on how the tag family works. Like how it finds the beams within the system to show the extent line of the tag.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Not sure if this will get you what you want but you can click on a Beam within a Beam System, Unpin it and then move it.

Then you could effectively manipulate the perimeter beams within the beam system and the tagging would follow suit ?

Thanks dgcad,

This works. Still interested if anyone has a clue how the system tag works and whether it can be manipulated/tricked using typical Revit trickery.
