I successfully added a door knob to door family. It displays perfectly in 3d and elevation but it does
not stick to the door panel (door opened) in plan view.

Question: In 3D your door is opened like you have in that image? Because if it looks "perfectly in 3D and elevations" thats because is closed, correct?
Solution: Edit your family and change the "visibility" of that "Knob" to don't show in plan then create symbolic lines to draw that in the right position like you want.

Yes they are closed. I am being new to the program, don't even know how to set them open in those views yet so to check
if there might be the same problem.
I will try what you said and be right back with an answer. Thx.
