Has anyone heard about autodesk going after any websites containing the word of their products in it? Just got an email from revit forum regarding this... Isn't this like metallica suing their fans for infringement? lol
Just wanted to make sure the email was legit....?

That letter will come soon. Most likely, the administrators of this site will need to put a disclaimer on the website saying that "Revit is a registered trademark of Autodesk", and that this site is "not affiliated to, sponsored by, approved by, etc... Autodesk". Several other sites and blogs that contain the word Revit in their domain have had to do the same. It would be good to have the disclaimer on soon, before the letter comes.
In my opinion, Autodesk is just protecting its trademark. The idea is to avoid confusion in the general public about sites that are "official" Revit-related sites from Autodesk, and sites that are not. Autodesk is not trying to shut down or "kill" any forums, as some users have seen it. Some smaller sites have had to transfer their domain, yes, but a large forum like this one will most likely need just a disclaimer.
