Hi,

Can anyone shed any light on the following problem, please?

I've created an external staircase that we use here, and It all looks/works pretty much how I want it.

However, when I try to group the staircase, the selection box seems to encompassing an erroneous point when views in a plan view??? I've tried modeling the the railing again ,Puged Unused, creating a new group but, nothing seems to work. It seems fine in 3d views, though.

Any ideas?

I've attached the problematic file for reference.

Many thanks.

Why are you grouping and what?

Remember, stairs are tied to levels and as such are not as "transportable" between projects.

Hi WW,

I'm grouping the railings with stairs, landing and columns etc.

All our projects have standard levels as we deal exclusively in modular buildings.

Thanks.

I've just discovered that the reason the bounding box of the group is so large is that the group contains the project base point.

Is there any way I can exclude this from the group?

Many thanks.

I have never seen this in a group but it may be that by including the stairs that demanded levels, this was also included.  Just a guess.
