I am attempting to model a wall type that has brick outer leaf. But, halfway up the wall I also want a render finish to start. This render will need to extend to variable wall section heights to suit roof eaves levels so a sweep will not do it. I have tried split regions to no avail and a reveal does not allow brickwork behind to show through and has also caused problems at splayed corners. Can anyone please help.

I would edit the wall type add a finish layer to the structure for the render and set the thickness to be very thin. Then turn on the preview and go to the section view. Zoom in on the bottom of the wall and select the bottom surface of the render and uncheck the padlock. This will then allow you to specify the bottom offset for this material as an instance parameter. You may need to also use the paint tool for the now exposed brick work section and paint it back to brick work. See image. Regards, Chris.

What do you mean by a render finish? For the brick to show up in a render, it too must be assigned an Accurender material. If this is a type of wall you wish to model then change rapidly, I would build the wall, split the exterior surface (in the editor use modify and split the exterior on the materials), then edit and assign the proper material to that section. No painting, and you can change material and height wilh the wall editor, and it applies for the entire use of that wall. You can assign a set height to the brick, then use "attach" to roof to have the upper material hit wherever the roof is....See the posted example image. If you need the wall type emailed let me know.
