Hi, i'm using revit architecture 2012.

does anyone know a way that you can insert a floor in plan view into a component legend? i have a load of different screed finishes that i have modelled differently. i have given the top element within the modelled floor structure a different surface pattern in the material properties. the problem i am now having is that i want to make a key that will tie into the material i have used so i tried to drop the floor into a component legend, but it will only let me see the floor component in section

thanks,

kieran

Revit will not show what you want.  Create a filled region with that pattern and use that.

but then the two materials are not tied into each other. if the graphics change in one, it will not change the other. i have made new generic models and given the material name in the family the same as the material name in the project. i have then loaded these in and used them as the legend components. now any changes to the floor patterns or colours will changes those of the generic model also.

not very ideal but its the best i can think of

thanks for your help anyway.

kieran
