I have an area of brick that is towards the front of the drawing that i need to be darker, and as the walls in elevation step back they need to be lighter. since i cant set the thickness of the surface patterns how can i adjust the darkness ot lightness of the lines as they step bac in elevation.

You can click on the wall in the view that you want to be lighter right click and override graphics in view by element and under the view-specific elements graphic dialog box change the surface pattern to a lighter color

thats what i have been doing, but the pattern does not "punch" thru it stiil gets lost. I kow it is not cad, but in cad i can set a pattern to a color and it prints that thickness. what i want to do is be able to print that suirface pattern at .007 and my farther back patterns AT .004. we can change projection lines of items. all i want to do is change the "projection" line of the suface pattern.

i changed my line wt 1 to 007 for my scale factor of the elevations i am working on. since i am not using that line wt anywhere else my pattern lines are at 007 now. and i can set the color slightly lighter for the retreating facades and it gives me the desired affect. it would be nice just to change the suface pattern line wt to 4 which is my 007. rather thatn having to sneak around the bush to get it done.

Thanks
