I need to do a shadow study of the interior of a building in plan view. However, Revit only does the study where the cut is. I have been trying different things, cutting it higher, ect ect I still cannot get it right!!!!! I looked on the fourms and it seems like its a question that is asked but never figured out. Does anyone have any tricks? or know any software that can do this?

Thanks!

You wrote: "...Revit only does the study where the cut is..."   Yes - that is the way it is controlled.  What would you want that is different?

I would like to see how the whole interior (from plan view) would appear. I have skylights so thats why I want to see how the light enters the space .

Did you turn on the daylight portal for your skylight?

Yes- however, since its above the cut plane, it doesnt show the shadows. Essentially I want the plan to mimic if there was no cut line and you could see how the light enters the space.

You should be able to see the shadows from an interior 3D view but not from a plan.
