I was updating Revit on my workstation from 2012 to 2013. My installation was about 70% complete and I had a complete freeze. I had to reboot the workstation. It left me with a partially installed Revit which will not uninstall via the Programs and Features. It returns an error saying the setup directory cannot be found, missing DLL's and registry keys. I decided to try a reinstall, but it recognizes the program is installed and will not let me continue.

I have no idea how to get a partially installed program off my workstation without reformatting. I am afraid I have inadequate IT skills to force it from the registry and proceed that way. . . help?

Thanks,

Sorry to hear that.

Actually your computer might not frozen at that time. I remenber when I installed Revit 2013 on my old desktop, at about the same stage, I had to wait for about 3 to 4 hours to let it ran, eventually everything was fine.

I interrupted the installation by force shut down my computer too at that time. Then,  I re-downloaded the program, somehow it picked up from there.

I'm an end user too, not an IT person. Hoping that you can try to re-download, and re-install the Revit as I did.

My computer crashed totally later, not related to Revit. I re-formatted my hard drive, re-installed the Windows7 from scratch.

The second time I let it run through, it took the same 3 to 4 hours. Now it works fine.

Good luck!
