I am currently new to revit and have some questions. This is related to line weights. For visibility and graphics I just

want to make sure I am understanding this correctly. I am able to change line weights for the plan view in visibility

and graphics area (is this option only project specific). In the objects styles I am able to change the cut line weights.

However I am unable to change to a different line weight in the object style's projection, does this need to be done

in families for objects?

Also I have gone through and matched autocad 1:1 line weights with Revits OOTB Line weights printed at 1/8" scale.

My goal is to eventually take the 1/8" lights weights and be able to find a way to get the line weights I need for the

other scales. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Object styles controls the VG project wide for projection and cut - line styles and line weights.

VG in a view is only used to modify in that view.

Line weights in Revit are based on intitial size in object styles then the pen weights for plotting are based on your manage tab / line weights chart.

I advise you to not fight this by tring to match CAD.  This is not CAD.  If you learn to adapt your standards to Revit, you will be much better off.
