Check out this screen shot. the roof noted is greyed out. I dont know why. Its in the view plane, right where the other roofs are..I just cant figure it. anyone got any ideas?

When I set the view range to Unlimited. the roof comes in solid. But if I set it back to the view range to "associated level below" It goes back to greyed and clear. Its a new roof, but so are the others. its not been individually VG changed, and its of course in the right spot on the model...so its on the same range as the other roofs. its host level is also the same as the others. 

heres a stripped down model. the view is "New Second floor"

Have you got an underlay on? That would explain the ghost / no ghost if this roof is not really in the view range.

 

You say this roof is in the same plane as the others.  Show us the elevation.

OMG HUB!! Thanks a lot! It was that the underlay was on! GAH! lol.

ok. so when I turned off the underlay, the roof disappeared, as its just beyond the view range.  so this time when I increased the range to include it, it came in clear. THanks a lot. I knew it was something that I was just missing. 

 Edit: sorry, the previous attachment didnt make it through. you would have figured it out in a second im sure.
