Can anyone shed some light on this. In my standard template I have a title sheet where the sheet index is listed. Within the project the sheets are then on a title block which just has a different look. The Title Sheet and title Blocks are two different families. I want to add a revision schedule to my Title Sheet right under the sheet index. How do I get the revisions made in the title block sheets to update (populate) in the title sheet revision schedule?

Thanks, Brian

Do you mean revision schedule or do you mean revisions in your sheet schedule?

Your titlesheet has to be edited to include the revision schedule if you want that.

If you want the sheet schedule to show the revision on the sheet, you have to edit the sheet schedule.

I`m refering to a revision schedule. The revision schedule has been created and placed on my title block and in my Title sheet already and I am aware how to edit the schedule so it reflects on my sheet. The issue is the Title block and the Title sheet are two different families. When I make a revision to a view that is placed on the Title block it doesnt update in the revision schedule that was created on the title sheet.

You need to review revisions in your HELP.  You can show revisions by project or by sheet.  If you are using by sheet then only if you revise the title sheet will there be a revision shown on that sheet.

As I said earlier.  If you want a revision schedule on your title sheet, you will have to edit that family.

Well thanks for the help. I spent the day on the HELP feature. I changed the setting to "by project" that didnt work. The families were both editied. The problem is they are two different familes. "Title block and title sheet" I`m not sure you are following that part. I understand all there is to understand how to make a revision works on a sheet and in a family. But the two families are not linked. Again, thanks for taking the time. This just may not be possible.

Whoa.... Revit will not track any revisions you make to a family and it doesn't track any revisions you make to a project unless you indicate you have done so.

... and how did linking come into your thought process?

REVISIONS

  1. Revision schedules are a property of sheet families.  You can have different sheet families in a project like your Title sheet and your other sheets.  BUT the schedule has to be within the sheet family!
  2. Projects can be set up to track revisions by sheet or by project.
  3. Prior to creating any Revision, the revision sequence has to be set under the manage tab.
  4. For a revision to be documented, a revision cloud has to be created ... either in a view or on a sheet.  I suggest always keep them on the sheet.

What I think WWHub is trying to explain is the diference that you can see in the image attached.

I have a titleblock with a revision schedule, and I didnt need to anything else than just insert the family into my sheet.

I dont insert the titleblock in the sheet family, only in the sheet in the project...

Sorry for my english Winking
