I am using Revit 2013 and would like to make a 2 x 4 wood truss with an arched top, shown in attachment.  I am OK modeling in place, but if I use an extrusion, I can't include the webs.  Is there a parametric family made of wood members available?  All my families are composed of steel.

Why cant you include the webs if you do it with an extrusion?  Finding a GOOD parametric truss family will be nearly impossible, at least I haven't.  I usually just create my own trusses to the sizes they actually need to be.

Well if I try to model anything that is not a closed loop I get an error message.  Do I model separate components and group them?  I am using model in Place and sketching a path then sweep or extrusion.  Thanks for your help!

You can do a truss that is a closed loop, look at my attachment in my previous post.  It is done as a simple extrusion.  You do not need to use a sweep to accomplish this.  You can and if you have more than one truss SHOULD create this as a family and insert it into your project.  If you create it as a family you can still create it as one extrision or many different ones if you wish.

OK.  Should I do it as a mass family?
