Hello,

In our office, we have to order all the walls and floors etc we draw, according to certain rules. We work with prefabricated walles, and our supplier needs the area off the walls, without openings.

My solution for now is, I copy the drawing, and delete everything except the walls, so I get the correct area. But is there maybe some setting I'm missing to do this automatically?

Thanks!

Jeroen

You are doing it the only way you can unless you build your model differently.  If you were to place all walls on ... say an exiting phase and the doors - windows on a new phase, you could take it off by phase.

I agree w/ WWWub. You should create your models based on your work flow. I would have a Phase that when applied to a model view the only thing that exist in the model would be walls.

Your current solution would no longer be necessary.

What phase do I put the walls in?  What phase do i put the windows and doors in that i wish to exclude from the take off?  This will be very useful for material estimating considering how they come in sheets and openings are cut out of these sheets.

Hey guys,

been a while since this question. Right now I can take further actions in it, and prepare our template with this. I've done some testing, but can't get it to work.

Could someonze answer Iceman's question above? I think this will clarify things for me as well.

Thanx!
