Can anyone explain to me, what is this error message mean & what is the solution for this? I'm using Revit Architecture 2012.

"One or more Spot Dimension references are no longer valid.  Spot Dimensions can generally reference only those references which have valid coordinates in the view."

I receive this message and unable to create spot elevation for the top parapet wall. I've search in the internet, and only found 1 person facing this problem at revitforum, and there're no explanation and solution yet..

Thank's in advance..

PS: Please ignore the rvt file I've attached.. it's corrupted and I can't delete it..

It sounds like you have placed spot elevations on objects that no longer exist. Maybe the original spot elevation was not onthe surface you thought it was.

Are you using a linked file ? Are you using worksets ?

Hi dgcad, thanks for the reply.

Yes, I was work on workset but I do not link any file to my project. I've saved my project to central and see it in 3D and I can see it there.

This error message occur when I want to give spot elevation to a sloping wall cap (self-made profile family). I can give spot elevation on the wall cap at any other wall, only this 1 particular wall always give me that error message (I'm using the same profile family for the wall cap).

For update, I can give spot elevation at the edge of this wall cap (highest and lowest edge) but not at the sloping face of the wall cap.. See image for better explanation (This section is already given 2D details, not the wall cap profile, the profile is very simple and another information, the error occur when I'm doing it on plan view).. The Red dot is the spot I can give spot elevation, and the blue line is the face of the wall cap I cannot give spot elevation..

So, for my current solution is by give spot elevation on the highest / lowest edge of the wall cap.
