I'm trying to create a ribbed groin vault and am stuck trying to 'trim' it as I'm building it. I've created the rib sections as walls with arched

openings in them and the first portion of the groin vault barrel ceiling as an In-Place component. I need to trim out the web portions

between the ribs so that I can create another barrel vault 90 degrees to the first one. I don't think I can use the shaft

function to trim or cut out the webs. In the attached images, the red X webs are the ones I need to cut out.

What are my options? What do I need to do?

Im not 100% sure what you are trying to do but it sounds like you need to use an In-place family, 'Void' and the cut geometry tools.

DG is correct, edit that "in-place" and create the "void" now use the cut geometry tool.
