I'm curious to know how often people on worksets sync to central.  We are trying to figure out the magic time frame here.

Up to you and what you are doing.

  • Sometimes I change things to see the consequences and I may not like them.  Once you sinc, you can't undo.
  • Do you have backup power? - You can wait longer
  • Has someone asked you to release somethig or are you requesting that from someone else?  - you will need to sinc

No magic number... just what makes sense.  I have my reminder set for 15 minutes I think but I ignore that a lot.

It seems as though when I sync to central my co-workers revit dwg changes unexpectantly.  I'm not talking about the drawing updates, those are good, but rather the parameters of the drawing.  For example his crop lines change to what mine are set at.  This isn't a big deal, but readjusting crop lines every 15 minutes is probably getting old.

If you change your crop view extents in a floor plan and sync and then they sync their crop view extents will also change.

"readjusting crop lines every 15 minutes is probably getting old."  Set them to where you both want them and stop changing them

Learn to use the power of Revit.

We create working views for modeling, especially plans.  One per individual and named accordingly like Myname First Floor....  In those views you can leave notes for yorself - place critical dimensions and note them as such.  Obviously sheet views should be fixed and only worked in when needing to annotate them.
