The company i work for has a couple of revit liscenses. I was under the impression that you can install the software on your home computer as long as it is being used by the same person at the two computers. I installed the software at home but im not sure as to what i put in for the serial number. The serial number i have on the software at work i put on the software i have at home and apparently it didnt work cause i want to use the program at home and its telling me that the liscense is expired and it will only let me work in demo mode. Can someone please help me out with this problem. I need to know what serial number im supposed to use for it to work properly.

Your impression is correct; I have done the same thing. The license you input should have worked fine, unless it was a student version as normal Revit licenses are perpetual. I suggest you email Autodesk with this question.

You can use the portable licence utility available from autodesk to use your licence from the office at home when needed then move it back.
