I am trying to rename a grid and it keeps giving me this error, but yet I can't find the grid with that name anywhere on my drawing.

The extents of that grid may be as such that its doesn't display in any views. Draw a scope box around your building select a grid and use select all instances. Then go to its properties and set them to the scope box to adjust there extents and thus force it to show if it infact exists. HTH.

Select All Instances is nice if you want to find hidden annotations or other families. Too bad it doesn't work for plan regions. I guess you can edit one plan region if you want to find the others. Post edited on 2006-01-20 19:54:54

You can also create a grid schedule; select grid lines in question from the schedule and display them in model.

Thanks @dmonkey ... found the missing grids by creating a Grid Schedule. Someone moved it, or forgot to move it, to a different workset.
