Hello,

I am trying to model a complicated faucet in Revit.  I can do it in the conceptual massing environment but not in the standard family editor.  I also can't bring the mass into my generic face based family.  I have two questions.

1. Is there a way to bring the mass into a standard family?

2. Is there a way to model this using the standard family editor?  I have tried swept blends, but can't get it to look right.

I will attach my mass family and the CAD drawings I am working from.

I don't understnad why people uses masses.  You can model solid and voided objects directly in a family!

Are you saying you modeled this in a project and want to bring it into a family?

This the first time I have used masses and the only reason I even tried is because I can't figure out how to make the geometry I want with the standard modeling tools.  The area that is giving me the problem is the central faucet with it's flowing curves.  I have tried using swept blends, but the results are far from satisfactory.  In my experience, Revit's standard modeling tools are not well suited for something like this.  Maybe I am just not being creative enough.  Do you have any suggestions for modeling the central faucet with standard modeling tools?

Your right, I don't think Revit is built to model "soft" items.  It is a building modeling program.  For what you want, people are using inventor, sketchup or something else then bringing that into a family.
