Is anyone having trouble with their Material Editor in Revit Architecture 2013 (besides the fact nobody likes the format)? It was working fine for me before the update release 2 but since updating with the update release 2 it isn't working right. I cannot create a new material, the browser isn't population like it should and when I try to add an material to my favorites I get an error saying "Your filter-Appearance-did not match any assets in this library" then if I try to do it again I am unable to click on anything. I have no clue how to fix this but I cannot create any materials! Thoughts/comments??

teafoe5:I have had the exact same problem and I have half fixed it in a 'round about way'When the Library has the 'Yellow exclamation mark' , Revit cant find it or it is corrupted.They are most probably still there in the folder ".........AppData \ Roaming \ Autodesk \ Revit \ Autodesk Revit2013""MyFavouriteMaterials2013.adsklib" and UnreferencedDocumentsAssets.000?.adsklib"When it happened to me, the "Blue windows waiting circle" remain permanently on.I copied one of the UnreferencedDocumentsAssets.000?.adsklib" files and renamed it to "MyFavouriteMaterials2013.adsklib" Then that stopped the yellow exclamation mark and the "permanent blue waiting ring" but there is still a yellow mark against the "unreferenced documents assets" but that doesn't seem as important.I had to delete the unnecessary materials out of the Favourites material library.As far as I can tell, Revit/Windows is corrupting the file, so now I do a daily backup of the all the files in that folder (see above)Since I have waiting a bit longer and opening & closing windows in the Material editor a bit slower, it hasn't happened again. Still not good enough!

I agree the old way was MUCH better. Ugh that is a lot of work Lindsay! But thank you very much I will either try that or just try an uninstall of revit and then reinstall. Thanks people!

I, too, am having issues since the update... which I only did recently. Very frustrating! I hate using the new material browser format.

I find that material editor takes FOREVER to load... Which makes changing anything, or dressing up my houses very frustrating & time consuming....
This is the same with painting surfaces, or changing the style of stone... or anything. Horrid!

Yes, Sroreilly, even though I have a fast system, still takes frustratingly long to change a material of an object.Revit 2014 is loaded & ready to go.Next Autodesk needs seriously to simplify the number of materials it need to load, too much duplication.
The Sky Background option for the Realistic View display option never worked well in 2013, I wonder if they have fixed it in 2014?

I sure hope R2014 is better.... I'm hesitant to load it up to find more annoying issues!
