I am a newbie to Revit.  For some reason, surely usere error, I am getting a no symbol when attempting to add doors or windows.  I've attached the file.  Any tips or suggestions would be very much appreciated!

Do you mean door and door swing symbol? Or the symbol for taggin the door (i.e. 101, 202)? If it is the tag symbol for the door, make sure the "tag on placement" is highlighted. If it is the door and door swing, check your visibility graphics to make sure it is turned on. Also make sure you are in a floor plan. Or check your view range.

The visibility for doors is ON.  I think I am not in floor plan view.  How do I get back there?

To answer your question, the doors themselves are not able to be placed b/c I am getting a NO symbol.

Thanks for the quick reply.

The number symbol does not have to be visible to place the doors.  And if you want to see it, it has to be turned on under VG/Annotations.
